First: you don’t have to decide anything today
Inherited season tickets come with more than a schedule. They came from someone, and they usually came with years of Saturdays or Sundays attached to them. Plenty of people hold on to seats they never use because letting go feels like letting go of something else — and plenty of others feel guilty for wanting the money instead. Both are normal, and neither has to be settled this week.
What you can do in the meantime is stop the bleeding. Every game that passes unused is money that quietly evaporates while you think it over. What inherited seats are usually worth
Often more than people expect — especially if they’re old seats. Long-held season tickets are frequently in locations that are difficult or impossible to buy into today, at prices that were locked in long before the market caught up. Families are regularly surprised by what a single game in those seats brings.
The other thing worth knowing: the market doesn’t care what the invoice says. Your renewal price and the resale value of a given game are two different numbers, and for good seats at good games the second is usually much larger than the first. How it works
Send us the games you can’t attend. We price each one by hand against live demand, list it across every major marketplace, handle the buyer and the transfer, and pay you the Friday after it sells. You keep ownership until the moment a ticket sells. Commission is 20% (15% on championship events), taken only from completed sales — and if a game doesn’t sell, you owe nothing and you still have the ticket.
Frequently asked questions
I inherited season tickets. Can I sell them?
Yes — if the account is in your name and the tickets can be transferred, they’re yours to sell, the same as any other ticket. Most people start by selling only the games they can’t attend and keeping the rest. You don’t have to give up the seats or the account to do it.
Do I have to sell the whole season?
No. Sell one game or twenty — you decide, and you can change your mind about any date before it sells. Most of our clients keep the games that matter to them and sell the rest.
Will the team take the seats away if I sell games?
Selling individual games you can’t attend is ordinary and common — it’s what the resale market exists for. Your account stays in good standing. Some teams have specific rules around transfers, and we confirm the transfer path before anything is listed.
What are inherited season tickets usually worth?
It depends entirely on the team, the seats and the game — but long-held seats are often in locations you simply can’t buy into today, which makes them more valuable than the renewal invoice suggests. Tell us the team, section and row and you’ll get an honest answer within one business day.
I feel strange about selling them. Is that normal?
