Four major rodeos. Four different pricing rhythms. One winter to work them all.

If you hold rodeo tickets you can’t use — a multi-night season package, a single sold-out concert night, NFR rounds in Las Vegas, sponsor allotments — this page tells you exactly how the resale markets work for each of the four major US rodeos and what selling them through us looks like.

The short version: each of these events has its own pricing rhythm. Houston (HLSR) and San Antonio bundle 18–20 nights of rodeo with rotating concert headliners; the lineup announcements in January and February reprice each individual night within hours. NFR is a 10-night Las Vegas one-off where round 9 and round 10 carry most of the value. Rodeo Austin is a tighter 16-night market with concentrated regional demand. Strategy is different for each. We list across every channel for all four.

The four major US rodeos at a glance

The rodeo winter: all four events, their lineup-announcement windows, and the ideal submission points on one calendar A Gantt calendar from October to March. Each of the four rodeos gets a row: a diamond marks the ideal submission point, a shaded band marks the lineup-announcement or peak-booking window, and a solid bar marks the event run. NFR runs December 3 to 12 with September-October submission. San Antonio runs February 11 to 28 with announcement waves from late November. HLSR runs March 2 to 21 with January announcement waves. Rodeo Austin runs mid-to-late March with January announcements. Verdict: position by October, list into every announcement. The whole category on one calendar. Submission diamonds sit weeks ahead of each market’s announcement window — NFR’s wholesale network books from September–October; the three Texas rodeos reprice night-by-night as their lineup waves drop from late November through February.

Why the strategy is different for each

NFR is a championship event, not a season. Ten consecutive rounds of competition for world titles. The value curve runs back-to-front: round 1 is meaningful, rounds 9 and 10 (Friday and championship Saturday) clear at multiples of the early rounds. Plaza and Gold Buckle floor sections — directly off the dirt — carry the highest per-seat premium of any rodeo ticket in the country. Buyer pool is national, with a deep wholesale broker network booking weeks in advance. Packages should never be flat-priced across rounds.

HLSR and San Antonio are concert-driven season packages. A 20-night HLSR package is 20 separate concert markets bundled at one price. Same for the 18-night SA package. The lineup announcements in January and early February drop in waves — each headliner reveal reprices that night’s resale market within 48 hours. A Texas country Saturday with a marquee act (the kind of nights George Strait set the NRG attendance record on with 80,108 fans in 2019) is a different ticket than a Tuesday with a mid-tier name. Multi-night holders who flat-price across all nights leave material money on the table.

Rodeo Austin is the regional concentrate. Smaller venue (~9,000), 16-night package, marquee nights move fast, weeknights have a thinner floor. The buyer pool is Austin-area and Hill Country regional brokers — they don’t all shop consumer marketplaces. Distribution beyond the public platforms matters more here proportionally than at the bigger Texas rodeos.

How consignment works (same process across all four events)

  1. You submit the form. Tell us which event, what you have, how many nights, what section. Takes a few minutes.
  2. We respond within one business day with next steps and transfer instructions by email.
  3. You transfer the tickets to us. Standard ticket transfer through the issuing system.
  4. We list across every channel where that specific market moves — major consumer marketplaces, wholesale broker channels, and our private buyer list. We use the right pricing approach for each event: hand-priced where the inventory deserves it (championship rounds, marquee concert nights), automated where it makes sense (high-volume standard inventory).
  5. We sell. You get paid every Friday — PayPal or wire — for whatever sold that week.

There’s no upfront fee. We get paid only when your tickets sell.

Why this beats the two alternatives

DIY listing vs wholesale buyout vs consignment — three ways to sell premium tickets compared on time, buyer pool, pricing strategy, and typical net to seller
DIY vs wholesale buyout vs full-service consignment
DIY listing on one platformWholesale buyout offerConsignment through us
Time requiredHigh — accounts, pricing, transfers, syncZeroZero after submission
Buyer pool reachedSingle platform’s audienceOne broker’s resaleEvery major consumer marketplace + wholesale channels + private buyer list
Pricing strategyYou guess once and adjustFlat, lockedHand-priced or automated per event, repriced as market moves
Risk of double-saleReal if you list multiple placesNoneNone — we manage sync
Typical net to seller80–90% of clearance, but lower clearance ceilingOften 50–75% of true market valueClearance minus 15–20% commission
When it makes senseOne ticket, low-stakes game, you have timeYou need cash today, no patiencePremium inventory, multi-night packages, you want maximum money without managing it

The honest comparison: DIY can work for a single low-stakes ticket. Wholesale buyouts make sense if you need cash this week and the offer is fair. For multi-night season packages and premium one-off events like NFR, the consignment math wins because the price ceiling on full distribution is materially higher than what one-platform DIY or one-broker buyout can hit.

Frequently asked questions

Can I sell just a few nights from my season package?

Yes. You don’t have to sell the entire package. Most multi-night holders only attend 4–8 nights of their package and sell the rest. We handle whatever subset you send — single night, several nights, full package. The form has a field for which nights specifically.

How much money will I actually get?

Whatever your tickets clear at on the secondary market, minus our commission (20% standard, 15% on NFR). We always go for the most money — that’s the whole pitch. We don’t promise specific dollar amounts because the secondary market moves daily based on lineup news, weather, standings, and demand. A snapshot price the day you ask is a snapshot of that day, not what you’ll receive when the tickets sell.

When do I get paid?

Every Friday. Whatever sold during the previous week is paid out via PayPal or wire on the Friday after the sale clears. We don’t hold funds — we settle weekly.

Do I have to sign a separate contract?

No. The form is the consignment agreement. By submitting it, you agree to our terms. For standard inventory across all four rodeos there’s no separate paperwork. Larger corporate or suite-level inventory may involve additional documentation, which we’d discuss directly.

What if my tickets don’t sell?

You keep them. We don’t charge for unsold inventory. If a specific night doesn’t clear by show time — rare for marquee nights, occasionally happens for weak weeknights — the tickets revert to you to use, give away, or eat. We don’t take a fee on what didn’t sell.

How early should I send my tickets in?

The earlier the better. For HLSR and San Antonio, ideal submission is October–November before the lineup announcements start in January. That lets us be in position to react instantly when each headliner reveal moves a specific night’s resale price. For NFR, ideal submission is September–October to capture peak buyer attention. Last-minute submissions still work — we’ll always list what you send — but earlier means more time on the open market.

Can I set a minimum price I’ll accept?

Yes, but we’d push back gently. The pitch we make is “we go for the most money.” Setting a hard minimum can prevent us from chasing the highest-paying buyer if that buyer’s offer is below your floor. Most clients leave the minimum to our discretion and clear more as a result. If you have a real floor — say you absolutely need to recover at least your face cost — tell us and we’ll work to it.

What happens to my tickets if I send them and change my mind?

Tell us. If the tickets haven’t sold yet, we can return them. Once they’re sold to a buyer, the sale is final.
