Toronto Raptors · Scotiabank Arena
One building serves an entire country. National catchment plus a currency overlay — Raptors pricing has variables no US market has.
The Raptors are the only NBA team in Canada, and that scarcity builds into every ticket sold at Scotiabank Arena. The 2019 championship added a generational demand layer that has outlasted the Kawhi Leonard era by six years and counting. Scottie Barnes, RJ Barrett, and Immanuel Quickley anchor a young core that 2026-27 inventory prices on. First regular-season sale is commission-free for new season ticket holders.
The Raptors ticket market in 2026
Raptors demand at Scotiabank Arena draws from an entire country, not a metro area. That’s the defining characteristic of this market. When the Lakers come to Toronto, buyers from Montreal, Ottawa, Winnipeg, Halifax, and Vancouver all compete for the same inventory. When the team is winning, that national-scarcity premium stacks on top of opponent-driven demand. Sellers who price Scotiabank inventory on pure-NBA comps (ignoring the cross-country buyer base) routinely under-price.
The premium windows we watch for Raptors consignors in the 2026-27 season:
vs. Lakers — national scarcity date. One Lakers game per season in Canada. The only Canadian NBA building, plus LeBron+Luka at the court, means lower-bowl clearance at Finals-game multiples.
vs. Celtics — conference rivalry with 2024 championship history. The 2018 Kawhi trade sent DeMar DeRozan to San Antonio, and the 2024 Celtics won the banner the Raptors spent 2019 earning. That emotional layer shows up in pricing.
vs. Warriors — Curry scarcity, cross-border travel premium. One date per year, routinely the hardest-to-clear single-game inventory of the season. Seattle and Vancouver buyers regularly travel for this matchup.
Nationally televised games (Canadian and US). TSN, Sportsnet, ESPN, and TNT windows all carry premium. Cross-border TV exposure (Canadian + US broadcast) is unique to Raptors inventory and materially widens the buyer pool.
Playoff games. Raptors postseason inventory is a national event. The 2019 Finals run (Game 6 in particular) was the highest-demand single basketball event in Canadian sports history. Playoff novelty premium is real when the team qualifies.
Scotiabank Arena’s Hall of Fame Suites and the Platinum sections (lower-bowl premium) price on corporate signals from Bay Street — Canadian banking, energy, and mining firms — whose entertainment spending patterns differ from standard NBA corporate demand. Listers who benchmark those sections against US premium tiers leave meaningful money on the table.
Inside Scotiabank Arena
Scotiabank Arena opened February 19, 1999, as Air Canada Centre, and was renamed in July 2018 following Scotiabank’s naming-rights acquisition. Capacity for Raptors basketball is 19,800, shared with the Toronto Maple Leafs of the NHL. The building sits on Bay Street at the foot of downtown, connected directly to Union Station (GO Transit, VIA Rail, UP Express to Pearson) via a climate-controlled tunnel. Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment owns both the building and both primary tenants.
The 2017-2019 Scotiabank Arena transformation
MLSE completed a multi-phase ~$350M renovation through the 2019 championship season that included the rename, new premium clubs (the Hall of Fame Suites tier), rebuilt main concourses, new scoreboard, and new Maple Leaf Square event space (the outdoor plaza where 2019 Finals watch parties drew 10,000+ fans). The work positioned the building as a premium destination in a downtown that had outgrown the 1999 footprint. Listers should use 2019-and-later comps for all lower-bowl pricing decisions.
The Hall of Fame Suites and Platinum sections, and why Bay Street buyers behave differently
Hall of Fame Suites (premium ring-of-honor level suites) and Platinum (lower-bowl club-access sections) are the tiers where Toronto corporate entertainment dollars concentrate. Canadian banking, energy sector, mining, and insurance companies absorb this inventory on entertainment-spend curves that differ from US comparables. The Canadian corporate-entertainment market runs fewer but higher-spend nights, which means Hall of Fame and Platinum inventory clears at steadier premiums than equivalent US tiers. Sellers who know this price accordingly.
Getting there on game day
Scotiabank Arena is directly connected to Union Station via an underground tunnel — GO Transit, VIA Rail, the UP Express to Pearson International, and the TTC subway all feed into the building without requiring an outdoor walk. This is the most integrated transit access of any NBA venue in North America. On-site parking is minimal and expensive ($50-75) because transit access is so strong. Out-of-town buyers landing at Pearson can be in their seats 35 minutes after baggage claim.
History that still drives Raptors ticket demand
One NBA championship — the 2019 title with Kawhi Leonard, Kyle Lowry, Pascal Siakam, Serge Ibaka, and Fred VanVleet. That single championship is a generational event in Canadian basketball. The DeMar DeRozan era (2009-2018) built the demand base that Kawhi’s year converted into a title. The franchise is in the middle of a post-championship reset — Siakam traded to Indiana (January 2024), VanVleet to Houston (July 2023), and the Barnes-Quickley-Barrett core representing the next competitive window.
Scotiabank Arena specifically has hosted the 2019 championship run home games (including the Finals clinchers), Kawhi Leonard’s 2019 ‘the shot’ Game 7 buzzer-beater against Philadelphia (although that wasn’t at this venue, it’s referenced in the broader 2019 story), and the DeRozan-era playoff heartbreaks against Cleveland in 2016-2018. The 2019-20 COVID season moved home games to Tampa temporarily, then returned in 2021-22. Barnes’ 2021 Rookie of the Year season and his 2024 All-Star selection established the current pricing floor.
Beyond basketball: Scotiabank Arena concert programming
Scotiabank Arena has hosted Drake (home-city concerts with particular cultural weight), Taylor Swift, Bruce Springsteen, The Weeknd, Bad Bunny, and the full rotation of major arena tours. The building benefits from being the only large indoor venue in the Toronto core — Rogers Centre (50,000) is too big for most tours and Budweiser Stage (amphitheater) is outdoor-only. That scarcity drives concert-side pricing higher than comparable US markets of the same size. Drake home shows specifically trade at resale multiples well above his US tour stops.
Why consign your Raptors tickets with us
We know which Raptors games move and when. Lakers on a Sunday is not the same listing problem as a Wednesday vs. Utah. National-scarcity dates at Scotiabank Arena — Lakers, Warriors, Celtics, Christmas, playoff — draw a cross-country buyer base that most operators don’t know how to price against. Our 20% commission earns multiples on those dates.
You don’t manage buyers, transfers, or delivery issues. We handle the full transaction: multi-marketplace listing, delivery, customer support, dispute handling, and replacement tickets if the primary marketplace cancels a transfer the night of the game. You don’t get a text from a stranger at 6:45 PM on tip-off night.
You get paid Friday after the event. One Friday payout for every game from the prior Sunday through Saturday. No marketplace payout delays, no held funds, no surprise chargebacks.
First regular-season sale is commission-free for new season ticket holders. If this is your first game with us and you’re a Raptors season ticket holder, we take zero commission on your first regular-season listing. The goal is to show you the difference in net payout — then you decide.
Holding Raptors season seats or Lakers/Warriors/Celtics dates at Scotiabank you won’t use?
The only NBA building in Canada draws buyers from Montreal to Vancouver for every marquee date, cross-border TV doubles the exposure, and USD/CAD moves the optimal listing window. Send your dates and sections.
Full-service consignment vs. listing Raptors tickets yourself
Selling Raptors tickets is a cross-border, cross-country pricing problem that behaves differently from any US-only NBA market. Here’s an honest comparison:
| List yourself | Consign with us | |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing decisions per home game | ~5-15 adjustments you make | We handle all of it |
| Multi-marketplace listing | One at a time, manually | Every major resale marketplace, plus wholesale broker channels and our private buyer list |
| Last-minute transfer issues | You handle buyer calls at tipoff | We handle it, including replacements |
| Payout timing | 7-30 days, varies by marketplace | Friday after the event, PayPal or wire |
| Pricing for Lakers, Warriors, and Celtics dates | Based on what you see on the marketplace | Based on nearly 20 years of premium-date data |
| Commission | 10-25% marketplace fees (variable by platform and event) | 20% standard (first regular-season sale free for new STHs) |

FAQs about selling Raptors tickets
How does my section affect what my Raptors tickets sell for?
Scotiabank Arena has five pricing tiers. Courtside is a separate market — four-to-five figures per seat for Lakers/Warriors dates. Hall of Fame Suites and Platinum (lower-bowl premium) trade on Canadian corporate-entertainment signals. Lower bowl 100-level is the volume retail tier. Upper bowl 300-level is the discount inventory. Each tier moves on different signals, and the Canadian premium adds 10-20% on top across all tiers.
My Raptors game got rescheduled — what happens to my consigned ticket?
NBA games rarely reschedule. Scotiabank Arena shares tenancy with the Maple Leafs, and in unusual years a Leafs playoff overtime can rarely force a Raptors game to a new date. The league’s standard policy is that tickets remain valid for any rescheduled date. We handle buyer communication. If the game is canceled outright (very rare), we refund the buyer and you’re not charged commission.
Should I wait until closer to game day to list my Raptors tickets?
For Lakers, Warriors, Celtics, and Christmas, list 60-90 days out — that captures cross-country travel buyers who book flights for the weekend. For standard games, 10-14 days out works better. Canadian currency volatility can also affect pricing windows — we watch USD/CAD and adjust accordingly.
