Cleveland Cavaliers · Rocket Arena
Three pricing regimes in one decade. 2016 comps overprice it; trough comps underprice it. We price the regime you’re actually in.
Rocket Arena — renamed from Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in 2024 — is the home of the post-LeBron, Donovan Mitchell-era Cavaliers. The 2023-24 Conference Semifinals run and Mitchell’s commitment through 2028 reset demand expectations. This is not the 2016-LeBron-era market, and pricing like it is leaves money on the table. First regular-season sale is commission-free for new season ticket holders.
The Cavs ticket market in 2026
Cavs demand at Rocket Arena (formerly Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse) has gone through three distinct regimes in a decade: the LeBron-return 2014-2018 peak, the post-LeBron rebuild trough (2018-2022), and the current Mitchell-Garland-Mobley-Allen competitive window. Pricing inventory on 2016 comps leads to over-pricing; pricing on 2020 comps leads to under-pricing. The market reality is that 2022-2025 data is the only relevant benchmark, and within that window, opponent-driven demand has widened materially.
The premium windows we watch for Cavs consignors in the 2026-27 season:
vs. Celtics — conference rivalry, 2024 playoff weight. The 2024 second-round loss to Boston is still recent. These dates carry emotional stakes, and TV networks prioritize them.
vs. Lakers — LeBron’s annual return (TBD). LeBron’s continued Lakers tenure makes this the emotional-premium date of the season. Every year it could be his last Cleveland return. Lower-bowl clearance hits Finals-game multiples.
vs. Knicks — Brunson-Mitchell matchup. Both teams competitive, both rosters stable — and New York arrives as the reigning Eastern Conference champion, which makes this the conference’s measuring-stick date.
vs. Warriors — scarcity Curry date. One per season. Curry novelty stacks on top of the 2015-2016 Finals history (Warriors won 2015, Cavs won 2016) that still drives buyer emotion.
Playoff games. Cavs postseason inventory has 2023, 2024, and 2025 data behind it — three consecutive years of playoff basketball, the best stretch since the LeBron-return era. First-round home games are underpriced on passive marketplaces.
Rocket Arena’s Fieldhouse Club and the Loudville Lounge (lower-bowl premium tiers) trade on Northeast Ohio corporate demand — Progressive, Key Bank, Cleveland Clinic, Sherwin-Williams, and the legal sector. These corporate buyers absorb inventory on entertainment cycles that don’t track game outcomes as closely as retail demand does.
Inside Rocket Arena
Rocket Arena opened October 17, 1994, as Gund Arena, renamed Quicken Loans Arena (2005-2019), Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse (2019-2024), and Rocket Arena in September 2024. Capacity for Cavs basketball is 19,432. The building sits on Huron Road in downtown Cleveland, adjacent to Progressive Field (Guardians) and the Horseshoe Casino. The $185M ‘Arena Transformation’ renovation completed in 2019 rebuilt the atrium, added the new grand entry, expanded premium clubs, and upgraded all suites.
The 2017-2019 ‘Arena Transformation’ and the 2024 rebrand
Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert’s $185M phased renovation through 2019 rebuilt the premium experience: new north atrium (Huron Road-facing glass facade), new Fieldhouse Club, rebuilt concourses, new suites, new AV. The September 2024 Rocket Mortgage-to-Rocket brand consolidation produced the venue’s current name (Rocket Arena) — no structural change, but the rename has been reflected in all 2024-2025 signage and marketing. When listing inventory, using ‘Rocket Arena’ in descriptions (rather than the older names) is now the correct reference.
The Fieldhouse Club, Loudville, and why Ohio corporate entertainment behaves differently
The Fieldhouse Club (courtside-adjacent lower-bowl premium with all-inclusive food/beverage) and Loudville Lounge (club-access bar in the lower concourse) are the two tiers where Northeast Ohio corporate entertainment demand concentrates. Cleveland Clinic, Progressive Insurance, Sherwin-Williams, Key Bank, and the Cleveland legal sector absorb this inventory at stable entertainment-spend levels. These sections hold pricing on losses and injuries better than retail because the buyer profile is less sensitive to single-game outcomes.
Getting there on game day
Rocket Arena is in the Gateway District downtown, directly across from the RTA Tower City Rapid Transit station (the Red, Blue, and Green Lines converge there). Tower City is the literal Cleveland downtown transit hub, and the walk from platform to Section 101 is five minutes indoors. Parking is plentiful in the Gateway-area garages ($15-40). For out-of-town travel buyers, mentioning RTA Red Line access to Hopkins Airport (40 minutes, $2.75) is a real conversion lever.
History that still drives Cavs ticket demand
One NBA championship — the 2016 title with LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Love, the first major professional sports championship in Cleveland since the 1964 Browns NFL title (a 52-year drought). The LeBron eras (2003-2010, 2014-2018) produced four Finals appearances, the 2016 championship, and the modern demand baseline that still anchors Cavs pricing. The 2018 LeBron departure, the 2022 Donovan Mitchell trade (from Utah), and Darius Garland’s emergence set up the current Mitchell-Garland-Mobley-Allen core.
Rocket Arena has hosted every Cavs home game since 1994. The building saw the 2007 Finals run (LeBron’s first), the 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018 Finals runs, the 2016 championship parade staging, and the 2023, 2024, and 2025 playoff runs. Donovan Mitchell’s 71-point performance against Chicago in January 2023 was the single highest-scoring individual game in modern Cavs history. The 2024-25 Eastern Conference Finals run (lost to Indiana in 7) is the most recent demand-driving event and the 2025-26 pricing baseline.
Beyond basketball: Rocket Arena concert history
Rocket Arena has hosted Taylor Swift, Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, Bad Bunny, Garth Brooks, Billy Joel, and the 2016 Republican National Convention. The acoustics are improved post-2019 renovation and concert-side pricing benefits from Cleveland being the default Northeast Ohio stop between Pittsburgh and Detroit for touring acts. Rock Hall of Fame adjacency (the museum is 15 minutes north in North Coast Harbor) adds cultural-tourism value for concert-side listing descriptions.
Why consign your Cavs tickets with us
We know which Cavs games move and when. LeBron’s return is not the same listing problem as a Tuesday vs. Portland. Premium dates at Rocket Arena — LeBron’s return, Celtics, Knicks, playoff — are where Cavs inventory holders leave real money on the table. Our pricing discipline (especially for the rebrand-confusion period where some comps are under Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse data) returns multiples on what we charge.
You don’t manage buyers, transfers, or delivery issues. We handle the full transaction: multi-marketplace listing, delivery, customer support, dispute handling, and replacement tickets if the primary marketplace cancels a transfer the night of the game. You don’t get a text from a stranger at 6:45 PM on tip-off night.
You get paid Friday after the event. One Friday payout for every game from the prior Sunday through Saturday. No marketplace payout delays, no held funds, no surprise chargebacks.
First regular-season sale is commission-free for new season ticket holders. If this is your first game with us and you’re a Cavs season ticket holder, we take zero commission on your first regular-season listing. The goal is to show you the difference in net payout — then you decide.
Holding Cavs season seats or LeBron-return/Celtics/Knicks dates you won’t use?
Cavs pricing has lived three lives in a decade — LeBron-peak comps overprice today’s inventory and trough comps underprice it, while LeBron’s every Lakers return still prices like a farewell. We price the current regime. Send your dates and sections.
Full-service consignment vs. listing Cavs tickets yourself
Selling Cavs tickets in the post-LeBron, Mitchell-era market requires accurate comps — the 2016 data is cultural history, the 2022-2025 data is the pricing baseline. Here’s an honest comparison:
| List yourself | Consign with us | |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing decisions per home game | ~5-15 adjustments you make | We handle all of it |
| Multi-marketplace listing | One at a time, manually | Every major resale marketplace, plus wholesale broker channels and our private buyer list |
| Last-minute transfer issues | You handle buyer calls at tipoff | We handle it, including replacements |
| Payout timing | 7-30 days, varies by marketplace | Friday after the event, PayPal or wire |
| Pricing for Celtics, Lakers, and playoff dates | Based on what you see on the marketplace | Based on nearly 20 years of premium-date data |
| Commission | 10-25% marketplace fees (variable by platform and event) | 20% standard (first regular-season sale free for new STHs) |

FAQs about selling Cavs tickets
How does my section affect what my Cavs tickets sell for?
Rocket Arena has four main tiers. Courtside and the Fieldhouse Club are a separate market — four-to-five figures per seat for LeBron-return and playoff dates. The Loudville Lounge and mid-bowl club access are the corporate-entertainment tiers. Lower bowl 100-level is the volume retail tier. Upper bowl 200-level is the discount inventory. Each tier moves on different signals, with a specific premium on any LeBron-return game.
My Cavs game got rescheduled — what happens to my consigned ticket?
NBA games almost never reschedule. Rocket Arena shares the Gateway District with Progressive Field and the Horseshoe Casino, but the building itself is single-tenant (Cavs) with concert bookings. The league’s standard policy is tickets remain valid for any new date. We handle all buyer communication. If the game is canceled outright (extremely rare), we refund the buyer and you’re not charged commission.
Should I wait until closer to game day to list my Cavs tickets?
For LeBron-return (Lakers), Celtics, Knicks, and national TV dates, list 60-90 days out — that captures Columbus, Pittsburgh, Detroit, and Buffalo travel buyers. For standard weeknight games, 10-14 days out works. LeBron-return specifically has its own 90-120 day pricing curve we manage separately.
