Tier 1 championship event hub · 15% commission
The only championship where tomorrow’s pitcher reprices tonight’s seat.
Up to seven games, two ballparks, nine days — and more pricing inflection points than any other major championship. The 2026 World Series opens October 23. If you hold a playoff strip or Series seats, this page is how the market actually works.
The World Series is baseball’s championship stage and its longest active postseason ticket market. The 2026 World Series is scheduled to open October 23 and could run through Game 7 on October 31. If you hold World Series strip tickets, home-game allocations through an MLB season-ticket package, or standalone game-specific seats that landed in your hands through a playoff package, our championship-tier consignment program puts them in front of buyers across every major secondary marketplace with one set of hands managing the sale.
The World Series ticket market in 2026
The World Series ticket market has a very different shape from the NFL’s single-weekend championship. It is a best-of-seven series, which means up to seven distinct events across two home cities over roughly nine calendar days, and buyer behavior shifts game by game based on series score, pitching matchups, and elimination status. That creates more pricing inflection points than any other major championship.
- Game 1 and Game 7 — bookend games carry premium demand. Game 1 for the ceremonial opener, Game 7 because elimination games clear at the highest prices in baseball.
- Home-city clinching scenarios — if a team can win the series on home soil in Games 5, 6, or 7, ticket prices for that potential clincher jump sharply in the 48 hours before first pitch.
- Series score momentum — a 2-2 or 3-3 series produces the most volatile pricing swings because the possibility of an elimination game on the next date moves demand across multiple games at once.
- Ace pitching matchups — announced starting pitching affects demand more in baseball than in any other sport. A Game 4 with a front-line ace will consistently outperform Game 3 with a back-end starter.
- Weather and travel day effects — October weather in either city can trigger rain-delay scenarios, and the rest/travel day between Games 2 and 3 is a quiet window that sometimes creates value opportunities for buyers and sellers.
Seven listings, seven curves: running seven different listings through seven different pricing curves is exactly the kind of workload that consignment exists to absorb. Our championship tier tracks the series live and re-times and re-prices as the matchup unfolds.
Inside World Series ticket inventory
World Series inventory varies game by game and ballpark by ballpark because the hosts are not set until the pennant races end. We handle the full range: strip tickets covering an entire home stand, single-game seats, and premium club and suite packages across either host venue.
Inventory tiers we work with
Most ballparks hosting a World Series configure three broad seat tiers: lower-bowl field-level (dugout, diamond, and sideline sections down the lines), loge and mid-level (200-level concourse sections), and upper-deck reserved. Within that, buyer preference is driven by view of the field, distance from home plate, and foul-ball proximity. First-base-side seats historically outsell third-base-side by a small but consistent margin on the secondary market. We list by section, row, and seat, and for strip ticket holders we decide game by game whether to sell individually or packaged based on which approach clears more money.
Premium packages and hospitality
World Series premium inventory typically includes all-inclusive club seats (Dugout, Diamond, or Field-level clubs with food and beverage), corporate suites, and in some cases Commissioner’s Box or owner’s lounge access for the highest tier of buyers. These packages carry different access mechanics than standard seats, so we list them with a written summary of what’s included, verify the access credentials and entry window, and route them to buyers who specifically shop premium rather than standard reserved seating.
Strip tickets, season-ticket holder allocations, and transfer rules
A large share of World Series inventory reaches the secondary market through MLB season-ticket packages. The package typically grants access to all home playoff games, with each game billed and released on a separate timeline. Transfer rules vary by club: some release tickets as mobile PDFs through the team’s account platform, others require in-app mobile transfer, and a few still use will-call for premium packages. We confirm the transfer path on each listing, flag any resale cap or marketplace restriction the host team has put in place, and handle credential transfer on the back end.
Holding a home strip — Games 1, 2, 6, 7?
Split into singles or sell packaged — we model both at listing time and recommend whichever projects the higher net payout. Different buyers want different games.
History that still drives World Series ticket demand
The World Series has crowned a champion almost every year since 1903, making it the oldest championship in American professional team sports still played under its original name. That long history matters for the ticket market because the event has built a stable cultural identity that survives changes in team participation. Buyers turn out regardless of which two cities are playing.
What keeps World Series ticket demand resilient is that the fan base converting to championship-week buyers resets every year. Long-suffering franchises reaching the Fall Classic triggers demand spikes that rival the biggest-market participants, and a blockbuster matchup between coastal teams can sell out multiple ballparks at premium prices in the same week.
Why the World Series ticket market holds value
Three structural features anchor demand. First, the best-of-seven format creates multiple distinct ticketing events per championship, so the total addressable buyer pool is larger than a one-game final. Second, because the series alternates venues, both cities’ local buyers drive home-game demand, and national traveling buyers layer on top of that. Third, baseball’s deep roster of legacy franchises means that any time a storied club reaches the Fall Classic it unlocks a wave of demand from fans who treat the appearance as a multi-year or even multi-decade event. Those three dynamics combine to keep the secondary market liquid through the full series every October.
Why consign your World Series tickets with us
15% championship-tier commission
Our Tier 1 events (Super Bowl, World Series, NBA Finals, Stanley Cup Final, CFP Championship, Final Four, Masters) run at 15% rather than our standard 20%. For new STHs, the commission-free first sale applies to regular-season events.
Expert pricing through the event window
We reprice World Series listings as the matchup, series score, injury reports, or weather shift the market, not just at list time.
Every major marketplace covered
One intake, one consignment, listings across every secondary platform that makes sense for the event, with a single point of contact for you.
Credential transfer handled end to end
We confirm the transfer path for each listing up front and execute the actual credential transfer on the back end when a seat sells.
Full-service consignment vs. listing World Series tickets yourself
There is a real case for DIY listing — you keep full control and cut out an intermediary. But the World Series market runs on short, high-volatility windows with meaningful transfer complexity, and most sellers come out ahead letting us manage the work. Here is how the two approaches compare.
| Element | Full-service consignment | DIY listing |
|---|---|---|
| Commission | 15% championship-tier | Marketplace fees typically 10–25%, variable by platform and event |
| Time commitment | We handle pricing, listings, and transfer for your World Series tickets | You manage every listing, reprice, message, and transfer yourself |
| Marketplace coverage | Your inventory listed across every major secondary marketplace | Each platform requires its own account, listing, and monitoring |
| Pricing expertise | Active repricing based on World Series market signals through the event window | DIY sellers often miss key pricing inflection points |
| Transfer mechanics | We confirm transfer path per listing and execute credential transfer | You handle every credential transfer yourself, often on deadline |
| Unsold inventory | No charge if a listing does not sell | Listing fees and renewals on some platforms regardless of sale |
Who actually holds sellable World Series tickets
There is no venue for the World Series until the pennants are decided — which is why the seller market forms in a 48-hour burst, twice, each October. The inventory itself was mostly spoken for months earlier:
The two pennant winners’ season ticket holders
The dominant pool. Postseason strips and priority purchases are invoiced to STH accounts as early as spring — bought at face value while the team was still a maybe.
“If necessary” game holders
Strips include potential Games 6 and 7 that may never be played. Unplayed games are refunded at face — but if the series goes long, those same tickets sell at full October market.
Team & league allocations
Club personnel, league office, sponsors and hospitality take their share before any public sale.
The public on-sale
Limited or nonexistent for the World Series itself; most fans who attend buy on the verified secondary market.
The seller math: a strip bought at face in April becomes championship inventory in October. The spike hits within 48 hours of each pennant clinch, and every additional game the series reaches re-prices the remaining inventory. We handle World Series consignments at the 15% championship tier and time listings to those exact moments.

FAQs about selling World Series tickets
When is the best time to list World Series tickets for resale?
The strongest window opens when the League Championship Series clinchers happen and the matchup is set. Prior to that, listing involves some uncertainty because the pricing curve depends heavily on which two teams play. Once the matchup is final, we publish listings immediately for early-game tickets and hold back later-game tickets only long enough to see whether the series score will push their pricing higher. Games 6 and 7, if they happen, clear at the top of the range.
Can I sell individual games out of a World Series strip, or only the full strip?
Both, and for most consignors the better total comes from splitting. A four-game home strip (Games 1, 2, 6, 7 for example) almost always generates more revenue sold as four separate single-game listings than as one package, because different buyers prioritize different games. We model both options at listing time and recommend the approach that projects the higher net payout based on current market indicators.
What is your commission rate for World Series consignments?
Our championship tier runs at a 15% commission on the net sale price, compared to our standard 20% rate on non-championship events. For new STHs, the first regular-season sale is free of our commission. There are no listing fees, no marketing charges, no per-marketplace fees, and nothing owed if a listing does not sell. You pay only when a ticket actually transacts.
I bought a postseason strip — can I sell individual games?
In most cases yes — strip tickets arrive as standard transferable mobile tickets and individual games can be listed separately, subject to your team’s transfer rules. Unplayed “if necessary” games are refunded at face by the club, so your true decision is only about games that actually happen. We confirm the transfer path on every consignment and time each game to its own demand window.
