A global icon in the league’s tightest building. Son Heung-min just made the scarcest seat in MLS scarcer.

BMO Stadium seats 22,000 and has had an active waitlist since it opened in 2018 — and in August 2025 LAFC signed Son Heung-min from Tottenham, adding a global superstar’s following to an already capacity-constrained building. Between Son, El Tráfico against the Galaxy, and Messi visits, there’s more demand than there are seats, and every home date prices above the league average. The LAFC ticket market in 2026

LAFC inventory has always been among the scarcest in MLS — a 22,000-seat building with a waitlist that’s never been short since 2018 — and the 2025 signing of Son Heung-min from Tottenham changed the demand curve again. A global icon with a worldwide following, dropped into a capacity-constrained venue, adds a new layer of buyers (international travel, the Korean and broader Asian diaspora, the curious) on top of the El Tráfico and Messi-visit demand that was already there. The result is simple: more demand than seats, and pricing that sits structurally above the league average. The job isn’t whether a date clears — it’s pricing El Tráfico against a midweek Eastern Conference visitor correctly.

Demand for LAFC tickets exceeds BMO Stadium’s fixed 22,000 capacity — and Son Heung-min added a new layer on top A stacked demand column rising against a fixed capacity ceiling. A dashed line marks the hard cap: 22,000 seats, with an active waitlist since 2018. The column stacks demand layers from the bottom: the season-ticket and waitlist base, then El Trafico against the Galaxy, then Messi visits, and on top a new gold layer for Son Heung-min, signed from Tottenham in 2025. The Son layer pushes the stack above the capacity line, and the portion above the cap is labeled as overflow that prices above market on the resale market. The verdict: more demand than seats, so every home date prices above the league average. More demand than seats a fixed 22,000 cap, and a new global-icon layer pushing demand over the top 22,000 seats — hard cap, active waitlist since 2018 Season-ticket + waitlist base El Tráfico vs. Galaxy Messi visits + SON HEUNG-MIN (2025) a new global-fanbase layer overflow above the cap = above-market resale More demand than seats — every home date prices above the league average.
The page’s own mechanic, drawn: more demand than seats. BMO Stadium’s hard 22,000 cap and long waitlist already pushed pricing above market; Son Heung-min’s arrival stacks a new global-fanbase layer on top, and the overflow is exactly where disciplined resale pricing pays.

The premium windows we watch for LAFC consignors in the 2026 regular season:

El Tráfico vs. LA Galaxy. Two home meetings a year, the most commercially important regular-season match in MLS — 3-5× a baseline date, with national-TV value on top.

Son Heung-min home dates and his global draw. Son’s following turns ordinary fixtures into events, with international and diaspora travel demand that prices a midweek date well above what the opponent alone would suggest.

vs. Inter Miami — Messi at BMO Stadium. Messi prices higher at BMO than at the larger Galaxy venue because the building is smaller and capacity-constrained; premium-club inventory clears within hours of schedule release.

Playoff matches and Concacaf Champions Cup. LAFC has hosted MLS Cup Finals at BMO; home playoff matches trade at 3-4× a regular-season date, and continental nights draw heavy travel demand from Mexico and Central America.

Western rivalry nights (Seattle, Portland, San Jose). The Sounders and Timbers especially bring visiting-supporter demand that keeps corner and supporters’-adjacent sections moving late in the window.

BMO Stadium’s Fig Club (midfield lower bowl, in-seat service) and Founders Club (behind-the-bench premium) move on Hollywood and downtown-LA corporate-entertainment signals. Tech and entertainment-agency buyers are a measurable slice of LAFC’s premium demand and price inelastically on the marquee dates — we price those tiers on a separate curve from the general bowl.

Inside BMO Stadium

BMO Stadium opened in April 2018 as Banc of California Stadium and was renamed in 2023. Capacity for LAFC matches is 22,000 — deliberately compact to preserve atmosphere and pricing discipline — one mile south of downtown LA in Exposition Park, beside the Coliseum, the Natural History Museum, and USC. It’s the newest purpose-built soccer-specific stadium in MLS and has hosted multiple MLS Cup Finals since opening.

Why the 22,000 cap creates scarcity pricing

LAFC’s waitlist has never been short, and the 22,000 capacity is smaller than the Galaxy’s venue and dramatically smaller than the league’s biggest buildings. That structurally keeps secondary-market pricing above league average on every home date — treating LAFC inventory like a generic MLS Saturday leaves real money on the table.

The 3252 and the premium tiers

The 3252 — the north-end supporters named for the 3,252 fans who petitioned for an LA soccer club in 1996 — is one of the best atmospheres in North American soccer, and those seats rarely reach resale. The pricing story lives in the lower-bowl sidelines, the Fig Club, and the Founders Club, which sell to a corporate and entertainment-industry buyer base on a separate curve from general demand.

Getting there on matchday

BMO Stadium sits next to the Metro E Line at Expo Park/USC — the most transit-accessible MLS venue in the country, walkable from USC and the Coliseum and 15 minutes from downtown. Parking is limited and pricey ($40-60), which pushes many buyers to transit and lets out-of-town El Tráfico buyers stay downtown and ride in.

History that still drives LAFC ticket demand

LAFC joined MLS as the league’s 23rd club in 2018, with an ownership group that includes Will Ferrell, Magic Johnson, Mia Hamm, and Nomar Garciaparra — a profile that shapes both the club’s visibility and its premium-tier buyer base. The franchise won the Supporters’ Shield in its second season (2019), then both the Shield and the MLS Cup in 2022 — the Cup won on penalties over Philadelphia in front of a capacity BMO crowd. Carlos Vela’s run as the centerpiece forward (2018-2023) built the original demand profile, and the 2023 MLS Cup Final loss to Columbus closed a two-year run as the league’s most consistent contender.

The present is defined by a star turn: Son Heung-min arrived from Tottenham in August 2025 to a sold-out home debut, pairing with Denis Bouanga to give LAFC one of the most-watched front lines in the league. The 2025 season ended in the Western Conference Semifinals, where Vancouver edged LAFC on penalties after a Round One win over Austin, and head coach Steve Cherundolo — who delivered the 2022 Cup and the 2024 U.S. Open Cup — stepped down at season’s end, handing a new staff a roster built around a global icon. Secondary-market pricing reflects a club at the center of the league’s attention.

Beyond soccer: BMO Stadium concert history

BMO Stadium runs a selective concert calendar — Billie Eilish, Tyler, the Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw, and international acts — a premium mid-size option between the smaller arenas and the giant SoFi. The Exposition Park location near the museums and Coliseum makes for an easy pre- and post-show footprint, and concert-side pricing rewards early listing on the bigger tours. Why consign your LAFC tickets with us

We know which LAFC dates move and why. El Tráfico on a Saturday and a Son home date are not the same listing problem as a midweek Eastern Conference visitor. The derby, Son and Messi dates, and playoff matches are where LAFC holders leave the most money on the table.

You don’t manage buyers, transfers, or delivery issues. We handle the full transaction: multi-marketplace listing, delivery, customer support, dispute handling, and replacement tickets if a primary marketplace cancels a transfer the night of the match.

You get paid Friday after the event. One Friday payout for every match from the prior Sunday through Saturday. No marketplace payout delays, no held funds, no surprise chargebacks.

First regular-season sale is commission-free for new season ticket holders. If this is your first match with us and you’re an LAFC season ticket holder, we take zero commission on your first regular-season listing. The goal is to show you the difference in net payout — then you decide.

FAQs about selling LAFC tickets

How does my section affect what my LAFC tickets sell for?

BMO Stadium has roughly four tiers. The Founders Club and Fig Club (midfield lower bowl, premium service) are the corporate-entertainment tier, priced well above general demand on El Tráfico, Son, Messi, and playoff dates. The lower-bowl sidelines outside the clubs are the standard premium tier, the end-line and corner sections are next, and the upper deck is volume. Premium tiers can sell out 45-plus days out on marquee dates while the upper rows clear in the final two weeks.

My LAFC match got rescheduled — what happens to my consigned ticket?

MLS matches occasionally reschedule for Concacaf Champions Cup fixtures. The standard policy is that tickets stay valid for the new date, and we handle all buyer communication and reissue the transfer. If a match is canceled outright (extremely rare), we refund the buyer and you’re not charged commission on that listing.

Should I wait until closer to match day to list my LAFC tickets?

For El Tráfico, Son and Messi dates, and playoff matches, list early — 60-90 days out captures travel buyers from Orange County, San Diego, and out of state, plus the international demand Son draws. For standard weeknights, 10-21 days out is optimal as premium-tier demand thins and casual buyers enter. We handle the per-match timing.
