New York Mets · Citi Field · Flushing
One contract repriced an entire ballpark. Citi Field trades on the Soto curve now — pre-2024 comps are a different building.
Citi Field is the post-Shea Stadium home of the Mets and, since December 2024, the ballpark built around the Juan Soto $765M contract — the largest in North American sports history. Mets inventory in 2026 is priced against a fan base that saw Citi Field revenue hit a record $311M in 2025 (850K more fans than the prior year). We handle pricing, multi-marketplace listing, delivery, and buyer issues — you get paid Friday. First regular-season sale is commission-free for new season ticket holders.
The Mets ticket market in 2026
Citi Field’s 41,922 capacity combined with the Juan Soto demand spike has made Mets 2026 inventory one of the most-consistently-premium tickets in the NL. Soto moved to left field in 2026 (away from Citi’s difficult right field), the Steve Cohen ownership is in year five of top-three-payroll spending, and the 2024 NLCS run reset buyer expectations. Premium dates (Yankees Subway Series, Braves, Phillies, Dodgers) clear at multiples above 2023 pre-Soto-era comps.
The premium windows we watch for Mets consignors in the 2026 regular season:
vs. Yankees — Subway Series, typically four to six games. The Subway Series at Citi Field clears 60-100% above face. Since the 2024 ownership investment and Soto signing, demand has been measurably higher than the pre-2024 baseline.
vs. Dodgers — reigning back-to-back World Series champions. Ohtani-Betts-Yamamoto at Citi Field is the top non-Subway-Series interleague date.
vs. Braves — ten games. The modern NL East rivalry; Atlanta-NY travel buyers drive strong weekend pricing.
vs. Phillies — ten games. The intensity has ramped up since 2022 NLDS and 2024 NLCS. Weekend series at Citi trade at 40-70% above face.
Opening Day at Citi Field. Corporate, tradition, and post-Soto buyer mix. 2026 Opening Day sold on the post-Soto curve, well in advance — the pattern now repeats for every marquee homestand.
Citi Field’s Metropolitan Grille, Delta SKY360 Club, and Empire Suite Club are three premium markets each moving on different signals. The Caesars Sportsbook Lounge, Porsche Grille, and Foxwoods Club are additional hospitality products. The 500-level upper deck clears on value-buyer demand but sits above the equivalent NL Central pricing because of the Soto-era baseline uplift.
Inside Citi Field
Citi Field opened in 2009, replacing Shea Stadium after 44 seasons. Capacity is 41,922. The ballpark was designed with a Jackie Robinson Rotunda at the main entrance (an intentional tribute to Ebbets Field), a right-field short porch, and the Home Run Apple (carried over from Shea). The Steve Cohen ownership since 2020 has driven sustained payroll investment and the December 2024 Juan Soto 15-year $765M signing — the richest contract in MLB history.
Citi Field upgrades and the post-Soto demand spike
The 2023-2025 offseasons added the Caesars Sportsbook Lounge, renovated the Metropolitan Grille, expanded the Delta SKY360 Club, upgraded the centerfield videoboard (one of the largest in MLB), and refreshed the Shake Shack concourses. The 2024-2025 offseason focused on capturing the post-Soto demand spike — expanded premium-hospitality footprint, new premium-season-ticket packages, and expanded Amazin’ Day family-zone configurations. The 2025 season saw 850K more fans than 2024 and a Citi Field revenue record.
Sections that define Citi Field pricing
Delta SKY360 Club (first two rows behind home, all-inclusive) is the top tier. Metropolitan Grille and Foxwoods Club (home-plate restaurant-level) are next. Empire Suite Club, Porsche Grille, and Caesars Sportsbook Lounge line the premium 100-level. Dugout Box, Field Box, and Baseline Box run the standard lower bowl. The 300-level Excelsior and 400-level Promenade are the mid-tier. The 500-level Upper Reserve is value. Gap between SKY360 and Upper Reserve on a Subway Series Saturday is $500+ per seat.
Getting there on game day
Citi Field has the 7 train stop at Mets-Willets Point (directly adjacent), LIRR Port Washington Branch at Mets-Willets Point, and I-678 access via the Van Wyck. Parking runs $25-45 for standard games, $40-70 for Subway Series and Dodgers weekends. The Flushing Meadows footprint is isolated (not walkable to hotels or dense amenities), which means most buyers arrive via train or car. The LaGuardia Airport proximity is a genuine pricing lever for out-of-town buyers flying in for a weekend Mets series.
History that still drives Mets ticket demand
The Mets have two World Series titles (1969 and 1986) and five NL pennants (most recent 2015). The 1969 Miracle Mets (Tom Seaver Cy Young, Jerry Koosman, Cleon Jones, Donn Clendenon World Series MVP) and the 1986 team (Darryl Strawberry, Dwight Gooden, Gary Carter, Keith Hernandez, Game 6 vs. the Red Sox) are the franchise’s cultural anchors. The Seaver number retirement, Piazza’s post-9/11 home run, and Jose Reyes’s 2011 batting title are the individual storylines that still drive commemorative-date demand.
Citi Field has hosted the 2013 All-Star Game and the 2015 World Series. The 2024 NLCS against the Dodgers (lost in six, but revived postseason interest at the ballpark) and the 2022 NL Wild Card are the most-referenced recent postseason dates. The Juan Soto signing on December 8, 2024 — announced during the Winter Meetings — reset the entire franchise’s commercial trajectory and is the single most-referenced recent front-office event.
Beyond baseball: Citi Field concert history
Citi Field has hosted Paul McCartney, Billy Joel’s homecoming runs, Bruce Springsteen, Beyonce, and multi-night shows across summer tours. Field-plus-lower-bowl concert configurations accommodate 45,000-50,000 depending on stage setup. Billy Joel’s Citi Field dates are among the highest-demand concert tickets in any MLB venue — he sold out back-to-back nights in 2025 for his final tour. Lower-bowl inventory on a McCartney or Joel date trades at premiums above Subway Series weekends.
Why consign your Mets tickets with us
We know which Mets games move and when. Mets inventory prices on a post-Soto demand spike that resets every comp set from 2024 and earlier. Pricing Subway Series and NL East weekend series against the post-2024 Citi Field baseline is where our 20% commission returns multiples over floor pricing.
You don’t manage buyers, transfers, or delivery issues. We handle the full transaction: multi-marketplace listing, delivery, customer support, dispute handling, and replacement tickets if the primary marketplace cancels a transfer the night of the game. You don’t get a text from a stranger at 6:45 PM on tip-off night.
You get paid Friday after the event. One Friday payout for every game from the prior Sunday through Saturday. No marketplace payout delays, no held funds, no surprise chargebacks.
First regular-season sale is commission-free for new season ticket holders. If this is your first game with us and you’re a Mets season ticket holder, we take zero commission on your first regular-season listing. The goal is to show you the difference in net payout — then you decide.
Holding Mets season seats or Subway Series/Dodgers/Phillies dates at Citi you won’t use?
The Soto signing moved Citi Field’s whole baseline — record $311M ballpark revenue, 850K more fans, Subway Series at +60-100% — and anything priced on pre-2024 comps undersells the new building. Send your dates and sections.
Full-service consignment vs. listing Mets tickets yourself
Selling Mets tickets in 2026 is a post-Soto-demand-spike pricing problem. Citi Field’s 41,922 capacity combined with sustained Cohen-era payroll and 2024 NLCS pedigree creates compressed premium supply. Here’s an honest comparison:
| List yourself | Consign with us | |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing decisions per home game | ~5-15 adjustments you make | We handle all of it |
| Multi-marketplace listing | One at a time, manually | Every major resale marketplace, plus wholesale broker channels and our private buyer list |
| Last-minute transfer issues | You handle buyer calls at tipoff | We handle it, including replacements |
| Payout timing | 7-30 days, varies by marketplace | Friday after the event, PayPal or wire |
| Pricing for Yankees Subway Series, Braves, and Dodgers dates | Based on what you see on the marketplace | Based on nearly 20 years of premium-date data |
| Commission | 10-25% marketplace fees (variable by platform and event) | 20% standard (first regular-season sale free for new STHs) |

FAQs about selling Mets tickets
Juan Soto plays left field now — does that change pricing for right-field seats?
Marginally. The Soto position move from right to left for 2026 (announced during 2025 offseason, confirmed in spring training) reduces some of the novelty premium on Citi’s right-field Pepsi Porch and Party City Deck, but the overall pricing uplift from the Soto signing is captured in every seat in the building. Left-field inventory (Hodges Deck, left-field sections) gets a small additional bump on games where Soto is starting, but the effect is <10% on same-opponent comps.
Subway Series — are games at Citi really priced the same as games at Yankee Stadium?
No, materially different. Citi Field Subway Series games trade about 15-25% below Yankee Stadium Subway Series games on the secondary market — Yankee Stadium has the capacity advantage and the stronger out-of-town travel buyer base. But Citi Field Subway Series still clears at 60-100% above face, which is a much wider premium than any standard Mets opponent. We list Citi Subway games against Yankee Stadium Subway comps (adjusted for the 15-25% discount), not against generic Yankees-at-X pricing.
I have a partial plan with some weeknight games against weaker opponents — worth listing all of them?
Depends on your net-payout math. Weeknight Mets games against, say, the Pirates or Rockies in April or September clear at floor prices $8-15 per seat in the lower bowl, less in the 500-level. If your plan includes mostly premium dates with a few weeknight floor-price games, we recommend listing the premium dates individually and bundling the weeknights together at aggressive floor pricing to clear. You’ll net more on the premium dates and avoid losing money on listing-fee-plus-delivery on the weeknights.
