Oklahoma City Thunder · Paycom Center
A championship priced into 18,203 seats. Small-market scarcity hasn’t finished absorbing the title premium — the gap is the opportunity.
The Thunder won the 2024-25 NBA championship — the franchise’s first title since relocating to Oklahoma City in 2008 — and Paycom Center ticket demand has entered a category it’s never been in before. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s MVP season, Jalen Williams’ All-NBA run, and Chet Holmgren’s emergence stacked the defending-champion premium on top of a small-market scarcity that was already driving steep secondary-market pricing. First regular-season sale is commission-free for new season ticket holders.
The Thunder ticket market in 2026
Thunder demand at Paycom Center carries the 2025-championship premium on top of a structurally scarce small-market inventory base. OKC’s 18,203-seat capacity is below the NBA median, and the Oklahoma City metro doesn’t have the buyer population to absorb the regional demand that a championship team generates. The result: secondary-market pricing on premium dates has moved into territory this market hasn’t seen since the Durant-Westbrook peak. Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, and Tulsa travel buyers now compete with local STHs for every rivalry and nationally-televised date.
The premium windows we watch for Thunder consignors in the 2026-27 season:
Banner-raising night and season opener. The 2025-26 opener carried the first banner-raising in franchise history and produced the highest-priced single-game inventory the franchise has seen — the benchmark every future opener prices off.
vs. Mavericks — regional rivalry plus emotional weight. The closest NBA rival geographically, and 2025 post-Luka Mavs context adds a specific cultural layer. Dallas fans drive up I-35 for these dates.
vs. Nuggets — Jokic-SGA MVP-caliber matchup. The past-three-seasons MVP axis. TV networks prioritize these dates, and premium trades 40-60% above average.
vs. Lakers and Warriors — scarcity premium for any Curry or LeBron+Luka date. One of each per season in OKC. Premium lower-bowl clearance hits championship-year multiples.
Playoff games. Thunder playoff inventory (especially Finals-run dates) has 2024-25 data behind it now — but the pricing hasn’t fully absorbed the championship premium yet. Early-round home games are still materially underpriced on passive marketplaces.
Paycom Center’s Love’s Club (courtside-adjacent premium) and the Terrace level (mid-bowl club access) trade on corporate demand from the Oklahoma energy sector — Devon, Chesapeake, Love’s itself — whose entertainment-spend patterns are less volatile than retail-demand signals. Those tiers hold firmer even on mid-February weeknight Thunder-Wizards games.
Inside Paycom Center
Paycom Center opened June 8, 2002, as the Ford Center, and has been renamed twice (Chesapeake Energy Arena, 2011-2021; Paycom Center, 2021-present). Capacity for Thunder basketball is 18,203, making it one of the smaller NBA venues. The building is directly across from the MAPS 3 Convention Center in downtown OKC. A ~$100M renovation package in 2022 added the Love’s Club, refreshed suite interiors, and rebuilt the center-hung scoreboard. A new arena is planned to open in 2028 adjacent to the current site, funded by a MAPS-4 temporary sales tax.
The 2022 Love’s renovation and the 2028 new-arena transition
The 2022 renovation was a bridge project designed to carry Paycom Center through the championship window and into the 2028 new-arena opening. The Love’s Club (courtside-adjacent premium), new suite finishes, and new scoreboard positioned the building to hold up through a title run. Now that the title has been won, inventory pricing for the final three seasons at this venue carries a ‘last games at Paycom’ novelty premium that has already started to appear in secondary markets. The 2028 move will reset pricing again; understanding the transition timeline matters for multi-year STHs.
The Love’s Club, Terrace, and why OKC corporate entertainment pricing is different
Love’s Club is the courtside-adjacent lower-bowl premium tier with all-inclusive food/beverage. Terrace is the mid-bowl club-access section. Oklahoma energy-sector corporate demand — Devon Energy, Chesapeake, Love’s Travel Stops, Continental Resources — absorbs these tiers at pricing curves that differ from national NBA comps because the local entertainment-spend environment runs fewer but more consistent nights. These sections clear at strong multiples even on Wednesday vs. Washington dates when retail tiers discount.
Getting there on game day
Paycom Center is on Reno Avenue in downtown OKC, a 12-minute walk from the Myriad Botanical Gardens and the Devon Tower. OKC’s transit is limited — no commuter rail, the OKC Streetcar runs a 4.8-mile loop that stops at Bricktown (a half-mile from the arena). Parking is abundant and cheap by NBA standards ($10-25 in lots, more at premium-night garage spaces). Most buyers drive. For out-of-state travel buyers, mentioning proximity to Bricktown’s restaurants and the Paycom-to-hotel walk distance matters more than transit.
History that still drives Thunder ticket demand
The franchise traces back to Seattle (1967) where the SuperSonics won one NBA title (1979) before relocating to Oklahoma City in 2008. Post-relocation, the Durant-Westbrook-Harden Thunder of 2010-2012 produced the 2012 Finals appearance (lost to Miami). The Durant-to-Golden State departure in 2016, the Paul George-Westbrook era, and the George-to-Clippers trade (the SGA-for-George swap) set up the current championship core. The 2024-25 title is the franchise’s first since 1979 and the first in Oklahoma City.
Paycom Center has hosted every home game since 2008. The building saw Durant’s 2013-14 MVP season, Westbrook’s 2016-17 triple-double MVP season, SGA’s 2024-25 MVP season, and the June 2025 Finals clincher against Indiana. The championship run specifically has entered the Thunder’s marketing language — every home-game promotional asset now references 2025. That marketing framing flows into secondary-market buyer psychology and supports pricing.
Beyond basketball: Paycom Center concert history
Paycom Center has hosted Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Elton John, Eagles, Garth Brooks (local-boy premium), and the rotating country-tour circuit that runs through Oklahoma. The building’s acoustic treatment is better than average for 2002-era venues, and concert-side pricing benefits from OKC being the only major-arena stop between Dallas and Kansas City on most tours. Garth Brooks home-market runs specifically trade at resale multiples well above his US market averages.
Why consign your Thunder tickets with us
We know which Thunder games move and when. A playoff rematch is not the same listing problem as a Wednesday vs. Sacramento. Defending-champion premium dates at Paycom are where Thunder inventory holders leave the most money on the table — and where our pricing discipline, factoring in the 2028-move novelty and the MVP-era scarcity, returns multiples on what we charge.
You don’t manage buyers, transfers, or delivery issues. We handle the full transaction: multi-marketplace listing, delivery, customer support, dispute handling, and replacement tickets if the primary marketplace cancels a transfer the night of the game. You don’t get a text from a stranger at 6:45 PM on tip-off night.
You get paid Friday after the event. One Friday payout for every game from the prior Sunday through Saturday. No marketplace payout delays, no held funds, no surprise chargebacks.
First regular-season sale is commission-free for new season ticket holders. If this is your first game with us and you’re a Thunder season ticket holder, we take zero commission on your first regular-season listing. The goal is to show you the difference in net payout — then you decide.
Holding Thunder season seats or Nuggets/Lakers/Warriors dates at Paycom you won’t use?
OKC’s 18,203-seat building can’t absorb what a championship roster generates — and by the page’s own read, secondary pricing still hasn’t fully priced the title in. The SGA-Jokic axis and banner-benchmark openers lead the card. Send your dates and sections.
Full-service consignment vs. listing Thunder tickets yourself
Selling Thunder tickets post-championship is a new pricing problem — the defending-champion premium isn’t fully absorbed into marketplace pricing yet, and the 2028 new-arena transition adds a novelty layer. Here’s an honest comparison:
| List yourself | Consign with us | |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing decisions per home game | ~5-15 adjustments you make | We handle all of it |
| Multi-marketplace listing | One at a time, manually | Every major resale marketplace, plus wholesale broker channels and our private buyer list |
| Last-minute transfer issues | You handle buyer calls at tipoff | We handle it, including replacements |
| Payout timing | 7-30 days, varies by marketplace | Friday after the event, PayPal or wire |
| Pricing for Nuggets, Mavericks, and defending-champion dates | Based on what you see on the marketplace | Based on nearly 20 years of premium-date data |
| Commission | 10-25% marketplace fees (variable by platform and event) | 20% standard (first regular-season sale free for new STHs) |

FAQs about selling Thunder tickets
How does my section affect what my Thunder tickets sell for?
Paycom Center has four main tiers. Courtside and Love’s Club (adjacent premium) are a separate market — four figures per seat for championship-era premium opponents. Terrace Club is the mid-bowl corporate-entertainment tier. Lower bowl 100-level is the volume retail tier. Upper bowl 200-level is the discount inventory. Suites rarely hit the open market because Oklahoma corporate lockups are long-term. Each tier prices on different signals.
My Thunder game got rescheduled — what happens to my consigned ticket?
NBA games almost never reschedule. Paycom Center’s only other major tenant is concert bookings (no NHL or major secondary sports), so Thunder schedule conflicts are rare. The league’s standard policy is tickets remain valid for any new date. We handle all buyer communication. If the game is canceled outright (extremely rare), we refund the buyer and you’re not charged commission.
Should I wait until closer to game day to list my Thunder tickets?
For Nuggets, Mavericks, Lakers, Warriors, and Christmas (if Thunder host), list early — 60-90 days out captures Dallas, Houston, and Kansas City travel buyers who book weekends around these dates. Standard weeknight games clear well at 10-14 days out as last-minute local buyers enter the market. Championship-banner-related dates have their own curve.
