Sacramento Kings · Golden 1 Center
You bought at rebuild prices. The market repriced without you selling. Kings season seats carry a cost-basis windfall — consignment is how you collect it.
Kings ticket demand underwent a structural reset with the 2022-23 ‘Light the Beam’ era — a decade of 25th-in-the-league average pricing flipped into top-10 demand overnight. Sabonis and the retooled core — the February 2025 Fox trade brought Zach LaVine to Sacramento — have held that baseline through 2025-26. If you hold Kings inventory, pricing it correctly for the new demand regime is where experience actually matters. First regular-season sale is commission-free for new season ticket holders.
The Kings ticket market in 2026
Golden 1 Center is 17,608 seats in a market that was under-priced for a decade and is now correctly priced for the last three seasons. Season ticket holders who bought during the rebuild years are sitting on cost-basis math that looks very good — and consignment inventory for premium dates against the Warriors, Lakers, or Kings’ playoff games trades at meaningful multiples above face.
The premium windows we watch for Kings consignors in the 2026-27 season:
vs. Warriors — multiple I-80 meetings. The most natural in-state rivalry in the NBA. Sacramento’s loudest building of the year happens on Warriors dates, and Bay Area buyers driving up 80 for the weekend keeps secondary-market pricing elevated.
vs. Lakers — two or three home dates. Lakers away games are a lift for every NBA arena, but Golden 1 Center’s intimate size (smaller than most NBA buildings) concentrates demand. Courtside on a Lakers night is as scarce as it gets in a mid-market.
Opening night. Light the Beam’s tradition — the purple laser beam lit after every home win — has become a destination event in its own right. Opening-night inventory has carried a novelty premium since 2022-23.
Nationally televised home games. ESPN/ABC windows are infrequent for Sacramento (historically under-covered) — when they happen, premium is 30-50% above comparable non-TV dates. Watch for them.
Playoff games. Sacramento playoff inventory has a 20-year scarcity story baked into it: the 2023 return to the playoffs after 16 years is still recent. Demand for any postseason Golden 1 Center home game is price-inelastic.
Golden 1 Center’s Floor Club and the Lower Bowl 100-level are where corporate entertainment demand concentrates — government, tech, and Sacramento-area legal/accounting firms. That buyer profile prices on different signals than general NBA demand.
Inside Golden 1 Center
Golden 1 Center opened October 4, 2016, replacing the aging Sleep Train Arena (formerly Arco Arena) in Natomas. The building is downtown, on the site of the old Downtown Plaza mall, and was built with LEED Platinum certification and a 100% solar-powered design — the first of its kind in the NBA. Capacity is 17,608 for Kings basketball, making it one of the smaller NBA venues by design.
The most forward-designed arena of its era
Golden 1 Center was built with ‘next-generation’ technology integrations that other 2016-2019 arenas later copied: 84-foot 4K video board, 100% solar power, farm-to-fork concessions sourced from a 150-mile radius, and the first NBA arena with integrated digital ticketing from opening day. The building ages well because those choices weren’t decorative — they’re structural. When listing Kings inventory, the ‘it’s a modern building’ signal still converts out-of-town buyers who remember the old Sleep Train Arena.
The Beam, the Bell, and the sections that corporate Sacramento chases
Since 2022-23, the purple laser beam lit after every Kings home win has become the team’s identity signal. The tradition has its own merchandise line, and opposing fans film it. The Floor Club (lower-bowl courtside-adjacent), Modelo Cantina (premium concourse club), and the 100-level sideline sections are where corporate entertainment buyers live. Sacramento’s state-capital economy — government contractors, law firms, lobbying firms — means premium demand is steadier than in comparable mid-market cities.
Getting there on game day
Golden 1 Center is a 2-block walk from the Amtrak Capitol Corridor station (direct train from Oakland/SF, San Jose, and the East Bay). SacRT Light Rail stops at 7th & Capitol, a 5-minute walk. On-site and adjacent parking ranges $20-40, well below LA or Bay Area comps. The 80-minute drive from SF/Bay Area on a Friday evening is predictable unless there’s an event in Vacaville or Davis. We mention transit specifics in premium-date listings for buyers coming up from the Bay.
History that still drives Kings ticket demand
The Kings franchise traces back to Rochester in 1945 and has one NBA championship (Rochester Royals, 1951). The franchise moved to Cincinnati, Kansas City/Omaha, Kansas City alone, and then Sacramento in 1985. The 2000-2004 Chris Webber / Mike Bibby / Vlade Divac / Peja teams are the era that shaped modern Kings demand — particularly the 2002 Western Conference Finals Game 7 against the Lakers (a historically controversial game) and the Rick Adelman-era ‘greatest show on court’ offenses.
The modern era starts in 2022-23 when De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis led the team to the playoffs for the first time since 2006 — a 16-year drought. That playoff run, the Light the Beam tradition, and the Fox-Sabonis pick-and-roll made the Kings relevant as ticket inventory again. Every home game since has priced off that new baseline. The 2023 All-Star Game was played in Salt Lake City, but Fox won the All-Star Game MVP — a moment still cited in Kings listing marketing.
Beyond basketball: Golden 1 Center concert history
Golden 1 Center has hosted Paul McCartney, Elton John, Bruno Mars, Eagles, Zach Bryan, and the 2019 NBA All-Star rehearsal events. The acoustic treatment is excellent (better than Chase Center for the same type of act, because the smaller footprint is kinder to mid-range frequencies). Concert-side pricing here benefits from the arena being the only major venue between the Bay Area and Portland — buyers drive in from Tahoe, Reno, and Redding.
Why consign your Kings tickets with us
We know which Kings games move and when. Warriors on a Saturday is not the same listing problem as a Wednesday vs. Portland. Premium dates are where Kings inventory holders leave money on the table — and where our pricing discipline actually returns multiples on what we charge.
You don’t manage buyers, transfers, or delivery issues. We handle the full transaction: multi-marketplace listing, delivery, customer support, dispute handling, and replacement tickets if the primary marketplace cancels a transfer the night of the game. You don’t get a text from a stranger at 6:45 PM on tip-off night.
You get paid Friday after the event. One Friday payout for every game from the prior Sunday through Saturday. No marketplace payout delays, no held funds, no surprise chargebacks.
First regular-season sale is commission-free for new season ticket holders. If this is your first game with us and you’re a Kings season ticket holder, we take zero commission on your first regular-season listing. The goal is to show you the difference in net payout — then you decide.
Holding Kings season seats or Warriors/Lakers dates at Golden 1 you won’t use?
A decade of 25th-in-the-league pricing flipped to top-10 demand in 2022-23 and held — STHs who bought during the rebuild are sitting on a cost-basis spread that passive marketplace listing never fully collects. Send your dates and sections.
Full-service consignment vs. listing Kings tickets yourself
Selling Kings tickets is a different market than it was three years ago — the 2022-23 demand reset is permanent, and pricing strategies built on rebuild-era data are out of date. Here’s an honest comparison:
| List yourself | Consign with us | |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing decisions per home game | ~5-15 adjustments you make | We handle all of it |
| Multi-marketplace listing | One at a time, manually | Every major resale marketplace, plus wholesale broker channels and our private buyer list |
| Last-minute transfer issues | You handle buyer calls at tipoff | We handle it, including replacements |
| Payout timing | 7-30 days, varies by marketplace | Friday after the event, PayPal or wire |
| Pricing for Warriors, Lakers, and playoff dates | Based on what you see on the marketplace | Based on nearly 20 years of premium-date data |
| Commission | 10-25% marketplace fees (variable by platform and event) | 20% standard (first regular-season sale free for new STHs) |

FAQs about selling Kings tickets
How does my section affect what my Kings tickets sell for?
Golden 1 Center has four main tiers. Courtside is a separate market, often $2,000-5,000 per seat for premium opponents. The Floor Club and Lower Bowl 100-level sideline (101-110) carry a significant premium because of corporate demand. Lower Bowl 111-125 (baseline/corner) is next. Upper Bowl 200s are the volume inventory. Each tier moves on different signals — the 100-level sidelines sell out on Warriors dates well before the 200s do.
My Kings game got rescheduled — what happens to my consigned ticket?
NBA games almost never reschedule mid-season. When they do, the league’s standard policy is that tickets remain valid for the new date. We handle all buyer communication. If the game is canceled outright (very rare), we refund the buyer and you’re not charged commission.
Should I wait until closer to game day to list my Kings tickets?
For Warriors, Lakers, and nationally-televised dates, list early — 60-90 days out captures Bay Area buyers planning to drive up. For standard weeknight games, the optimal window is 10-21 days out. We handle per-game timing.
