Utah Jazz · Delta Center
The building got a second tenant. Your math changed. NHL nights doubled Delta Center’s calendar — attend-vs-resale is a different decision now.
Delta Center — renamed in 2023 from Vivint Arena — is now a dual-tenant NBA/NHL building after Utah’s 2024 NHL expansion (the Utah Hockey Club, now the Utah Mammoth). The Jazz share the building with a brand-new NHL team, and the scheduling dynamics have changed meaningfully for STHs. Lauri Markkanen’s All-Star extension and a young core anchor the basketball side. First regular-season sale is commission-free for new season ticket holders.
The Jazz ticket market in 2026
Jazz demand at Delta Center operates in a building that fundamentally changed in 2024 when the NHL’s Utah team moved in. The dual-tenant scheduling means more events per week, more concourse congestion on game nights, and altered parking dynamics — all of which affect how STHs think about attendance vs. resale. On the basketball side, Lauri Markkanen’s 2022 All-Star season established the current pricing baseline; the roster rebuild around him is the pricing context for 2025-26.
The premium windows we watch for Jazz consignors in the 2026-27 season:
vs. Lakers — LeBron+Luka plus Jazz-Lakers playoff history. Stockton-Malone Jazz battled Kobe-Shaq Lakers in 1998 and 2000. Every Lakers date carries that history plus current star draw.
vs. Warriors — Curry scarcity. One date per year. Premium lower-bowl clearance at championship-year multiples.
vs. Nuggets — Mountain time zone rivalry. Denver is 6 hours east on I-70. Nuggets fans drive over for weekend dates. MVP Jokic tourism adds demand.
vs. Thunder — the 2025-champion draw plus historical Oklahoma City-Salt Lake rivalry. The SGA-Markkanen matchup is a TV regular. Playoff implications on these dates.
Playoff games (if applicable). Jazz postseason inventory has been scarce since the 2021-22 season; any 2026-27 playoff run will produce the highest-demand Salt Lake basketball inventory since Donovan Mitchell’s era.
Delta Center’s Presidents Club and the Owners Club (lower-bowl premium) trade on Utah corporate demand — Delta Air Lines (namesake), Adobe (Lehi), Qualtrics, Intermountain Healthcare, and the Salt Lake tech and financial sector. These corporate buyers absorb inventory steadily, and the dual-tenant NHL addition has actually increased corporate-entertainment sales because some corporate packages now cover both Jazz and Mammoth seasons.
Inside Delta Center
Delta Center opened October 3, 1991, as Delta Center (1991-2006), renamed EnergySolutions Arena (2006-2015), Vivint Smart Home Arena (2015-2021), Vivint Arena (2021-2023), and Delta Center again in April 2023 following a new naming-rights deal with Delta Air Lines. Capacity for Jazz basketball is 18,306. The building sits at 301 South Temple in downtown Salt Lake City, three blocks from Temple Square and the Utah State Capitol. A phased $125M renovation through 2017 and subsequent work through 2024 (for the NHL addition) modernized the building.
The 2017 renovation and the 2024 NHL dual-tenant conversion
The 2017 $125M renovation rebuilt the premium experience: new Presidents Club, rebuilt Owners Club, refreshed concourses, new scoreboard. The more recent 2024 NHL-conversion work included NHL-spec ice plant installation, NHL-dimension ice sheet adjustments, NHL-specific locker room buildout, and related capital work. The dual-tenant operation is the most significant change to Delta Center’s operating model in a generation. Listers should be aware that Jazz game-night parking dynamics differ from NHL game-night dynamics; some corporate packages now include both.
The Presidents Club, Owners Club, and the Salt Lake tech-sector corporate base
Presidents Club (premium courtside-adjacent lower-bowl with all-inclusive dining) and Owners Club (lower-concourse premium with club access) are the two tiers where Utah corporate entertainment demand concentrates. Delta Air Lines, Adobe, Qualtrics, Overstock.com (historical), Intermountain Healthcare, and the growing Silicon Slopes tech sector absorb this inventory. The Salt Lake corporate-entertainment market has grown 40%+ since the 2015 Vivint era, driven by tech growth. Premium-tier pricing at Delta Center has fundamental support that rebuild-era basketball performance doesn’t fully reflect.
Getting there on game day
Delta Center is at 301 South Temple, a three-minute walk from the UTA TRAX Light Rail (Blue, Green, Red Lines at Arena Station). TRAX connects to Salt Lake City International Airport (30 minutes), the University of Utah, and South Salt Lake. Parking is abundant downtown ($15-30). For out-of-town travel buyers flying into SLC, the TRAX Green Line runs directly from the airport to Arena Station. Salt Lake snow in winter is a game-day variable; plowed routes are reliable but out-of-town buyers appreciate the heads-up.
History that still drives Jazz ticket demand
Zero NBA championships. Two NBA Finals appearances (1997, 1998, both against Michael Jordan’s Bulls). The John Stockton-Karl Malone era (1984-2003) is the franchise’s peak, producing 21 consecutive playoff appearances, Stockton’s NBA all-time assists and steals records, and Malone’s two MVP awards. The Donovan Mitchell era (2017-2022) produced four playoff appearances; Mitchell was traded to Cleveland in September 2022. The current roster, anchored by Markkanen, Keyonte George, and Taylor Hendricks, is mid-rebuild.
Delta Center has hosted every Jazz home game since October 1991, including the 1997 and 1998 Finals home games. The building saw Stockton’s 1997 Game 6 game-winner to clinch the Finals berth against Houston, Malone’s MVP seasons, Mitchell’s 2020 playoff breakout (57 points against Denver), and the 2021 Conference Semifinals loss to the Clippers. The 2024 NHL addition (Utah Mammoth) and Lauri Markkanen’s 2023 extension through 2027 are the recent franchise developments.
Beyond basketball: Delta Center concert history
Delta Center has hosted Taylor Swift, Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, Bad Bunny, Elton John, Garth Brooks (ties to the Mormon-country demographic), and the rotating country and rock touring circuit. Salt Lake is a mid-size US concert market but grows each year as the tech-driven population expansion continues. Concert-side pricing benefits from Delta Center being the only large indoor venue between Denver and the West Coast, making it a mandatory tour stop. The building competes with the Maverick Center in West Valley for mid-size acts.
Why consign your Jazz tickets with us
We know which Jazz games move and when. A Lakers Saturday night is not the same listing problem as a Tuesday vs. Charlotte on a back-to-back with the Mammoth. Premium dates at Delta Center — Lakers, Warriors, Nuggets, Thunder, playoff — are where Jazz inventory holders leave the most money on the table. Our pricing discipline (with the NHL-dual-tenancy scheduling awareness) returns multiples on what we charge.
You don’t manage buyers, transfers, or delivery issues. We handle the full transaction: multi-marketplace listing, delivery, customer support, dispute handling, and replacement tickets if the primary marketplace cancels a transfer the night of the game. You don’t get a text from a stranger at 6:45 PM on tip-off night.
You get paid Friday after the event. One Friday payout for every game from the prior Sunday through Saturday. No marketplace payout delays, no held funds, no surprise chargebacks.
First regular-season sale is commission-free for new season ticket holders. If this is your first game with us and you’re a Jazz season ticket holder, we take zero commission on your first regular-season listing. The goal is to show you the difference in net payout — then you decide.
Holding Jazz season seats or Lakers/Warriors/Thunder dates at Delta Center you won’t use?
Since the NHL moved in, Delta Center runs nearly twice the event nights — parking, congestion, and calendar fatigue changed the attend-vs-resale decision for every Jazz STH, and that’s exactly when consignment earns its fee. Send your dates and sections.
Full-service consignment vs. listing Jazz tickets yourself
Selling Jazz tickets in the NHL-dual-tenancy era is a new pricing problem — scheduling and parking dynamics have changed, and venue-name confusion from five rebrands since 2006 affects search discovery. Here’s an honest comparison:
| List yourself | Consign with us | |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing decisions per home game | ~5-15 adjustments you make | We handle all of it |
| Multi-marketplace listing | One at a time, manually | Every major resale marketplace, plus wholesale broker channels and our private buyer list |
| Last-minute transfer issues | You handle buyer calls at tipoff | We handle it, including replacements |
| Payout timing | 7-30 days, varies by marketplace | Friday after the event, PayPal or wire |
| Pricing for Lakers, Warriors, and Nuggets dates | Based on what you see on the marketplace | Based on nearly 20 years of premium-date data |
| Commission | 10-25% marketplace fees (variable by platform and event) | 20% standard (first regular-season sale free for new STHs) |

FAQs about selling Jazz tickets
How does my section affect what my Jazz tickets sell for?
Delta Center has four main tiers. Courtside and the Presidents Club are a separate market — four figures per seat for premium opponents. The Owners Club and mid-bowl premium trade on Utah tech-sector corporate demand. Lower bowl 100-level is the volume retail tier. Upper bowl 200-level is the discount inventory. Each tier moves on different signals, with NHL-adjacent-night corporate packages adding demand on specific dates.
My Jazz game got rescheduled — what happens to my consigned ticket?
NBA games rarely reschedule. However, the 2024 NHL dual-tenancy has added rare Mammoth-playoff-overtime scheduling conflicts. The league’s standard policy is tickets remain valid for any new date. We handle all buyer communication. If the game is canceled outright (extremely rare), we refund the buyer and you’re not charged commission.
Should I wait until closer to game day to list my Jazz tickets?
For Lakers, Warriors, Nuggets, Thunder, and national TV dates, list 60-90 days out — that captures Denver, Las Vegas, and Boise travel buyers. For standard weeknight games, 7-14 days out works. We use both ‘Delta Center’ and ‘Vivint Arena’ in listings for search discovery given the recent rename.
