Real Salt Lake · America First Field · Sandy
The Mountain West’s own club. A scenic, ski-season market with a 2009 championship pedigree.
RSL is the only MLS team for the entire Intermountain West, in a mountain-view building that seats 20,213 — and uniquely, its city is a world-class ski destination, so the early-season and spring dates pick up a winter-tourism lift other markets don’t have. Add the Rocky Mountain Cup, a Messi visit, and a 2009 MLS Cup pedigree, and the marquee dates carry real upside. We price by hand, list across every major marketplace, and pay you Friday. First regular-season sale is commission-free for new season ticket holders.
The RSL ticket market in 2026
RSL demand in 2026 is shaped by being the Intermountain West’s only big-league soccer club, in a scenic 20,213-seat building with the Wasatch range on the east horizon. What makes the market unusual is the calendar: Salt Lake is a world-class ski destination, so the season-opener and early home dates pick up a winter-tourism lift that summer-driven markets don’t see — and Salt Lake’s selection to host the 2034 Winter Olympics only raises that destination profile over time. Layer in the Rocky Mountain Cup, a Messi visit, and the 2009 MLS Cup pedigree, and the marquee dates price well above a generic baseline. Pricing each to its real driver is where season ticket holders capture the upside.
The premium windows we watch for RSL consignors in the 2026 regular season:
Rocky Mountain Cup vs. the Colorado Rapids. The two home meetings in the regional rivalry, with travel along the Salt Lake-Denver corridor that keeps the date elevated, around 3× a baseline weeknight.
vs. Inter Miami — Messi at America First Field. A 20,213-seat building makes this a tight ticket; the secondary market is where it gets priced.
Ski-season overlap dates. The season opener and early home dates coincide with the Park City, Deer Valley, and Cottonwood Canyons ski season, adding visitor demand other markets don’t see.
Playoff matches. A 2009 MLS Cup winner; a home playoff date prices 2-3× a regular-season Saturday when RSL is back in the bracket.
Nationally televised Saturday windows. The national-window matches carry a 25-40% premium over a comparable midweek date.
America First Field’s premium tiers — the Yardhouse Club, the Aalto Lounge, and the Captain’s Club — sell to the Wasatch Front’s tech, finance, and ski-resort hospitality base. The Loyalists supporters bring the matchday energy, and those seats rarely reach the secondary market. The east-sideline lower bowl, with the mountain views, carries a small aesthetic premium and is where the dates differentiate most.
Inside America First Field
America First Field opened in October 2008 (as Rio Tinto Stadium, renamed in 2022) in Sandy, about 20 minutes south of downtown Salt Lake on I-15. Capacity is 20,213, and the mountain views on the east side are a signature matchday feature — part of why a seat here sells on setting as well as the match.
The ski economy as a demand layer
RSL is the rare market layered over a world-class winter-tourism economy — Park City, Deer Valley, Alta, and Snowbird — and because the ski season runs through the early part of the MLS calendar, the opener and spring dates draw visitors that summer markets don’t. With Salt Lake set to host the 2034 Winter Olympics, that destination pull only grows. Pricing the early dates into the ski calendar captures demand most listings miss.
The Loyalists and the premium tiers
The Loyalists at the south end are the organized supporters, and those seats rarely reach resale. The Yardhouse Club, the Aalto Lounge, and the Captain’s Club are the corporate-entertainment tiers; the lower-bowl sidelines are mid-tier (with the east-side mountain views carrying a premium), and the upper rows are volume.
Getting there on matchday
The stadium is 20 minutes south of downtown on I-15, with the UTA TRAX Blue Line terminating at Sandy Expo within walking distance and parking at $15-35. Out-of-town buyers come from Park City, Ogden, Provo-Orem, Logan, and Pocatello, plus the winter ski-tourism crowd from both coasts.
History that still drives RSL ticket demand
Real Salt Lake joined MLS in 2005, and the 2009 MLS Cup — won over the LA Galaxy on penalties — is the franchise-defining season, with Jason Kreis coaching a core of Nick Rimando, Kyle Beckerman, Javier Morales, and Robbie Findley. The 2011 run to the Concacaf Champions League Final (a narrow aggregate loss to Monterrey) added continental prestige, and that pedigree still prices into every home date as a legacy premium.
The present is steady under Pablo Mastroeni, who signed a multi-year extension after the 2025 season and has guided RSL to the playoffs in all five of his years — in 2025 finishing 9th in the West and reaching the Wild Card round, with homegrown star Diego Luna (now a U.S. national-team regular) developed through the academy. The results move year to year, but the 2009 legacy, the rivalry, and the destination market keep the demand durable, and secondary-market pricing reflects it.
Beyond soccer: America First Field event history
America First Field also hosts the Utah Royals (NWSL), international friendlies, U.S. national-team matches, rugby, and select mid-size concerts. The 20,213 capacity keeps the concert calendar moderate — bigger Salt Lake tours go to the Delta Center or USANA Amphitheatre — so the soccer schedule is the building’s primary driver, tracked date by date.
Why consign your RSL tickets with us
We know which RSL dates move and why. The Rocky Mountain Cup or a Messi visit is not the same listing problem as a Wednesday vs. Vancouver. The rivalry, Miami, ski-overlap, and playoff dates are where RSL holders leave the most money on the table.
You don’t manage buyers, transfers, or delivery issues. We handle the full transaction: multi-marketplace listing, delivery, customer support, dispute handling, and replacement tickets if a primary marketplace cancels a transfer the night of the match.
You get paid Friday after the event. One Friday payout for every match from the prior Sunday through Saturday. No marketplace payout delays, no held funds, no surprise chargebacks.
First regular-season sale is commission-free for new season ticket holders. If this is your first match with us and you’re an RSL season ticket holder, we take zero commission on your first regular-season listing. The goal is to show you the difference in net payout — then you decide.

Full-service consignment vs. listing RSL tickets yourself
Selling RSL tickets is a legacy-premium and destination-market pricing problem with deep Wasatch Front corporate demand. Here’s an honest comparison:
| List yourself | Consign with us | |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing the rivalry, legacy, and ski-season dates | You price every date the same | We price the peaks and the ski lift |
| Multi-marketplace listing | One at a time, manually | Every major resale marketplace, plus wholesale broker channels and our private buyer list |
| Last-minute transfer issues | You handle buyer calls at kickoff | We handle it, including replacements |
| Payout timing | 7-30 days, varies by marketplace | Friday after the event, PayPal or wire |
| Pricing for rivalry, Messi, and playoff dates | Based on what you see on the marketplace | Based on nearly 20 years of premium-date data |
| Commission | 10-25% marketplace fees (variable by platform and event) | 20% standard (first regular-season sale free for new STHs) |
FAQs about selling RSL tickets
How does my section affect what my Real Salt Lake tickets sell for?
Four main tiers. The Yardhouse Club, the Aalto Lounge, and the Captain’s Club are the corporate-entertainment premium. The lower-bowl sidelines are next — the east side, with the mountain views, carries a small premium — the corners and end-line are mid-tier, and the upper rows are volume. The Loyalists supporters are a separate category. On a Rocky Mountain Cup or Messi date, the whole grid lifts.
My Real Salt Lake match got rescheduled — what happens to my consigned ticket?
Matches occasionally reschedule for Utah weather (snow or storms) or Concacaf fixtures. The standard policy is that tickets stay valid for the rescheduled date, and we handle all buyer communication and reissue the transfer. If a match is canceled outright (extremely rare), we refund the buyer and you’re not charged commission on that listing.
Should I wait until closer to match day to list my Real Salt Lake tickets?
For the Rocky Mountain Cup, Inter Miami, ski-overlap, and playoff dates, list early — 60-90 days out captures the Mountain West travel and ski-tourism buyers. For standard weeknights, 10-21 days out is optimal. We handle the per-match timing call.
