Portland Timbers · Providence Park · Portland
The atmosphere is the product. A century-old ground, the Timbers Army, and the loudest matchday in MLS.
A Timbers ticket sells more than a match. Providence Park has hosted soccer since 1926, the Timbers Army runs the most iconic supporters’ culture in MLS, and a Cascadia night is a bucket-list experience that pulls fans and groundhoppers from across the Pacific Northwest. In a 25,218-seat building with a years-long waitlist, that demand is structural. We price by hand, list across every major marketplace, and pay you Friday. First regular-season sale is commission-free for new season ticket holders.
The Timbers ticket market in 2026
Timbers demand in 2026 is built on something most clubs can’t manufacture: a matchday experience that is itself the draw. Providence Park’s 25,218 seats sit in a market that could support far more, the season-ticket waitlist runs years deep, and the Timbers Army turns every home date into a spectacle. A Cascadia night is the loudest matchday in MLS, and a Messi visit is among the rarest tickets in the league precisely because the capacity doesn’t expand. The team made the playoffs again in 2025, but the demand here is structural — people buy the venue, the atmosphere, and the rivalry as much as the result. Pricing the marquee dates to that experience premium is where season ticket holders capture the upside.
The premium windows we watch for Timbers consignors in the 2026 regular season:
Cascadia Cup vs. the Seattle Sounders. The oldest Pacific Northwest rivalry and the loudest matchday in MLS; two home meetings, each pricing 3-4× a baseline date with heavy Seattle travel.
vs. Inter Miami — Messi at Providence Park. Among the rarest visiting tickets in MLS because the building doesn’t expand; the premium tier sells out within hours.
Cascadia vs. the Vancouver Whitecaps. The other Cascadia leg, with cross-border travel that keeps the date elevated.
Playoff matches. A 2015 MLS Cup winner and a two-time Cup finalist; a home playoff date prices 3-4× a regular-season Saturday.
Opening match and tifo nights. The season opener and the big Timbers Army tifo dates carry their own novelty premium beyond the opponent.
Providence Park’s Toyota Club, Key Club, and 100-level sidelines are the corporate-entertainment tiers. The Timbers Army in and around Section 107 is member-held and rarely reaches the secondary market. The lower-bowl sidelines and the 2019-added east grandstand are where the dates differentiate most.
Inside Providence Park
Providence Park dates to 1926 (originally Multnomah Stadium), making it one of the oldest continuously operating pro sports venues in the country. The 2019 MLS-era renovation expanded capacity from 21,144 to 25,218 with a new east-side grandstand — while carefully preserving the intimate, vertical atmosphere — in the Goose Hollow neighborhood on the west side of downtown Portland.
A century of soccer as a selling point
Soccer on this site traces back to the 1920s, and NASL, USL, and MLS Timbers have all called it home. That continuity, plus the 2019 expansion that kept the building loud and intimate, makes Providence Park genuinely unique — a venue buyers travel to experience, which is why a seat here sells on more than the scoreline.
The Timbers Army and the premium tiers
The Timbers Army at the north end (around Section 107) is one of the most committed supporters’ groups in American soccer, organizing tifo and chants since 2001 — before the club even joined MLS. Those seats are member-held and rarely reach resale. The Toyota and Key Clubs are the corporate-entertainment premium; the 100-level sidelines and the east grandstand are the lower-bowl inventory.
Getting there on matchday
The TriMet MAX Blue and Red lines stop right at the Providence Park station, with downtown Portland hotels a 10-15 minute walk and limited parking at $30-60. Out-of-town buyers travel from Seattle, Vancouver, Bend, and Eugene — and the downtown location makes a match easy to pair with Portland’s food-and-beer scene.
History that still drives Timbers ticket demand
The current MLS Timbers joined in 2011 after Portland’s earlier NASL and USL eras, and the 2015 MLS Cup — won 2-1 over Columbus, sparked by Diego Valeri’s goal in the opening seconds — is the signature moment. Valeri’s 2013-2021 run, the 2018 MLS Cup Final, and the 2021 MLS Cup Final (a penalty-shootout loss to NYCFC, played in front of a capacity Providence Park) are the memory-bank dates that still price into demand.
The present is steady: under head coach Phil Neville, who has reached the playoffs in each of his first two seasons, the Timbers returned to the postseason in 2025 — a second straight year — before falling to San Diego FC in the Round One series. The results move year to year, but the experience and the rivalry don’t, and that’s the durable foundation under the ticket market. Secondary-market pricing here reflects a venue and an atmosphere as much as a team.
Beyond soccer: Providence Park event history
Providence Park also hosts the Portland Thorns (NWSL), international friendlies, U.S. national-team matches, and occasional concerts, with the 25,218 capacity and intimate footprint keeping the concert calendar mid-size — bigger Portland tours go to the Moda Center. The soccer schedule is the building’s primary driver, and a consignor tracks it date by date.
Why consign your Timbers tickets with us
We know which Timbers dates move and why. Cascadia on a Saturday is not the same listing problem as a Wednesday vs. New England. The Cascadia, Miami, and playoff dates are where Timbers holders leave the most money on the table.
You don’t manage buyers, transfers, or delivery issues. We handle the full transaction: multi-marketplace listing, delivery, customer support, dispute handling, and replacement tickets if a primary marketplace cancels a transfer the night of the match.
You get paid Friday after the event. One Friday payout for every match from the prior Sunday through Saturday. No marketplace payout delays, no held funds, no surprise chargebacks.
First regular-season sale is commission-free for new season ticket holders. If this is your first match with us and you’re a Timbers season ticket holder, we take zero commission on your first regular-season listing. The goal is to show you the difference in net payout — then you decide.

FAQs about selling Timbers tickets
How does my section affect what my Timbers tickets sell for?
Four main tiers. The Toyota and Key Clubs are the corporate-entertainment premium. The 100-level sidelines are next, the 100-level corners, end-line, and the 2019-added east 200-level are mid-tier, and the legacy 200-level is volume. The Timbers Army around Section 107 is a separate, member-held category that rarely reaches resale. On a Cascadia or Messi date, the whole grid lifts.
My Timbers match got rescheduled — what happens to my consigned ticket?
Matches occasionally reschedule for Concacaf fixtures or weather. The standard policy is that tickets stay valid for the rescheduled date, and we handle all buyer communication and reissue the transfer. If a match is canceled outright (extremely rare), we refund the buyer and you’re not charged commission on that listing.
Should I wait until closer to match day to list my Timbers tickets?
For the Cascadia dates, Inter Miami, and playoff matches, list early — 60-90 days out captures the Seattle and Vancouver travel buyers. For standard weeknights, 10-21 days out is optimal. We handle the per-match timing call.
